Best practices for packaging items and using your generated shipping labels.
Use a sturdy corrugated box slightly larger than the item, with enough room for padding. Reuse boxes only if they're clean, dry, and structurally sound.
Wrap items individually in bubble wrap, and fill empty spaces with packing peanuts, crumpled paper, or air pillows so nothing shifts in transit.
Weigh the packed box and measure its dimensions before buying a label. Under-declaring weight or size can cause delivery delays or extra fees.
Seal every flap and seam with packing tape (not masking or Scotch tape) in an H-pattern. The box shouldn't bulge or have gaps.
Distribute weight evenly and keep the heaviest items at the bottom. A balanced box is less likely to be crushed or tipped.
Open the order in your shipping dashboard and download or print the generated label on plain paper or a thermal label printer. Use a full-sheet label or tape it securely.
Tape the label flat to the largest side of the box, covering all edges. Don't cover the barcode with tape — scanners must read it. Avoid folding over corners.
Peel off or black out any previous shipping barcodes and addresses so carriers don't scan the wrong code and misroute your package.
Hand the package to your carrier at a drop-off location, or schedule a pickup from your home or office through the carrier's site.
Back in your dashboard, mark the order as shipped so the buyer gets a tracking notification and knows it's on the way.
Keep the barcode scannable
Don't cover, fold, or smudge the barcode on your label — if a carrier can't scan it, the package may be delayed or returned.
