Safety tips

Stay safe on bigflipz

A few habits keep your account secure and your transactions smooth. Review these tips before you buy or sell.

The golden rule: keep all communication and payment on bigflipz. Moving a deal off-platform removes our protections and makes scams harder to reverse.

Protect your account

  • •Use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor sign-in if available.
  • •Never share your password, verification codes, or account access with anyone — not even someone claiming to be bigflipz staff.
  • •bigflipz will never ask for your password or a one-time code by email, phone, or chat.

Spot a scam

  • •Be wary of deals that look too good to be true — they usually are.
  • •Watch for sellers who push to communicate only off-platform or rush you to pay quickly.
  • •Ignore requests for payment by gift card, wire transfer, or cryptocurrency to a stranger.
  • •Fake escrow or 'verification' services are a common trick — bigflipz does not use third-party escrow agents.

Pay safely

  • •Always complete purchases through bigflipz checkout so your payment is tracked and protected.
  • •Never send money directly to a seller's personal account outside the platform.
  • •Review the listing, photos, and seller reputation before buying.

Ship and receive safely

  • •Use the shipping address you enter at checkout — keep a record of tracking numbers.
  • •Save photos and messages about the item's condition in case you need to open a return.
  • •If something arrives not as described, request a return through the Returns Center rather than arguing off-platform.

Meet in person (local deals)

  • •If you arrange a local pickup, meet in a busy, well-lit public place — never at a private home.
  • •Bring a friend, inspect the item, and only hand over payment once you're satisfied.
  • •Trust your instincts; walk away if anything feels off.

Report and block

  • •Use the Report button on any listing, message, or user that seems fraudulent.
  • •Block a user to stop them from messaging you or making offers.
  • •Submit a support ticket if you've been scammed — include order numbers and screenshots.

If something goes wrong

Act quickly — the sooner you report an issue, the more we can help.

These tips are general guidance and don't cover every situation. When in doubt, pause and verify before you pay.
